尾道市文化協会会長 川口協治氏が死去
アマチュア漫画家として地域の様々な事業にイラスト作成等でかかわってきた（有）川口石油（尾道市）社長で尾道市文化協会会長の川口協治氏が４月30日死去した。１年ほど前に脳腫瘍が見つかり、手術後、リハビリをしながらの自宅療養中だった。64歳。
葬儀は５月５日に市内長者原のメモリアルホールで営まれ、約５００人が遺された漫画、書籍等を思い起こしながら生前を偲んだ。川口氏の双子のお兄さんは「沈黙の艦隊」「ジパング」などで知られる日本漫画界の巨匠かわぐちかいじ氏。中学生のころから兄弟で漫画家を志したが、協治氏は家業の川口石油を継ぎ、給油船とガソリンスタンドによる石油販売を主とする事業の発展に尽くした。
